Alessandro Profumo, CEO of the UniCredit Group (a large pan-European bank), stopped investments in a Bulgarian nuclear power plant. On the website, supporters can write an E-Mail to Profumo, in order to covince him not to invest in nuclear power plants anymore in general.
Additional Description:
The German title "Bleibt Sauber, Unicredit" means "Stay Clean, Unicredit". Profumo decided in October 2006 that UniCredit would not invest in a Bulgarian nuclear power plant, located in an earthquake-sensitive area. He also announced that UniCredit should decide if they would finance nuclear power in the future, or if they wouldn’t because of ideological reasons. Campact.de wants this last option to happen and set up an eMail-action. Users can create their own eMail, or sign an already written one on the Website. After more then 3500 eMails, UniCredit responded with some “hollow phrases”, saying they were “conscious” of the consequences financing nuclear power might bring along. In order to keep convincing UniCredit not to invest in nuclear power, Campact.de started a new eMail action, where people can read UniCredit’s answer and write back immediately.
