On the 18th and 25th of May 2006, two moderated webchats about smaller cities and towns took place on this website. The first webchat was with Phil Woolas, Minister for Local Government. The second with Ruth Kelly MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

Additional Description:
Our work on Towns, Cities and Regions is looking to raise the economic performance of our cities. The aim of these webchats is to see what the visions of cities and towns are, what the assets are they already have, what the barriers are and what Government can do to help to remove them and make these visions a reality. A variety of themes were discussed, like City-Regions, governance structures, economic development, Local Area Agreements and Local Government White Paper.
